However, this actually occured on one occasion in Mexico in the 17th century. It was not the chocloate itself, but rather the poison injected into the chocolate, which killed a Spanish Bishop who decided to ban the consumption of chocolate during church services.
2. Chocolate is the inspiration behind the Microwave invention
Percy Spence, a scientist working on WWII radar and weapons projects, was a big fan of chocolate. He noticed that the chocolate bar melted in his pocket after spending some time near a formidable device called a magnetron. He quickly put two and two together and realized magnetrons could heat up food at incredibly fast rates and microwave oven came into existence.

5. Dark Chocolate can slow ageing
Dark chocolate is filled with antioxidants. Antioxidants help free your body of free radicals, which cause oxidative damage to cells. Eating antioxidant rich foods like dark chocolate can protect you from many types of cancer and slow the signs of aging.
6. Dark chocolate is your new skin tonic?
German researchers found that the flavonoids in dark chocolate absorb UV light, help protect and increase blood flow to the skin, and improve skin’s hydration and complexion.
