Are Your Panic Attacks Causing Your Depression?
Alright, you´ve had a panic attack! Now, it´s time to have a panic attack about that! You better spend all your time worrying about whether this will happen again and when!
Oh my God! What if it happens in front of your boss? What if it happens in a restaurant or at the PTA meeting? You´ll never be able to show your face there again! How embarrassing, how humiliating, how depressing!
This is what happens to panic attack sufferers. They worry all the time about their panic attacks, how other people will react, how they will react and what will happen if it happens in public at an inconvenient time. All of these thoughts can be overwhelming and depressing and even be contributing to the likelihood that you will have a recurrence of your panic attacks.
So many people who suffer from anxiety problems also suffer from depression. It´s not hard to see why! Anxiety can be scary, worrisome and life limiting. If you are having difficulty meeting with friends, handling your work responsibilities or interacting with your family because of your anxiety, this can be isolating and overwhelming. ...

Here are some ways to determine whether you are struggling with depression. Remember, everyone feels sad or upset from time to time and we recover or snap out our funk. That´s not depression. Depression is when hopelessness, listlessness, and fatigue have taken over your life.
If this has happened to you, you are not alone. Almost 10 million Americans have had this problem overwhelm their lives and many of them are anxiety sufferers. 25% of women and 10% of men will have a clinical level of depression strike them at some point in their lives. Identifying and dealing with this problem early and quickly are the best ways to prevent it from ruining your life.
Common symptoms of depression:
1. Sadness over a prolonged period of time
2. Lack of purpose
3. Feeling helpless or hopeless
4. Irritable with others
5. Lack of interest in friends and family, losing touch.
6. Difficulty concentrating
7. Missing work
8. Appetite changes (either eating far too much or far too little)
9. No interest in activities you used to like
10. Fatigue or loss of energy
11. Low self worth
12. Indecisiveness
13. Melancholy
14. Thoughts of death or suicide
15. Aches and pains, headaches
If you or a loved one is struggling with four or more of these problems, then you are probably suffering from depression. Moreover, that depression is linked to your anxiety problems and you should start working to address the symptoms and underlying causes.
Luckily, there are many ways to deal with both depression and anxiety. You can try medication, especially if the problems are severe, but there are also many non prescription routes to take that can help you achieve great and positive results.
Often, depression and anxiety are the result of flawed thinking. This flawed or negative thinking is the result of an overactive and negative imagination taking hold of your daily life. There are ways to train your mind that can help you see the glass as half full rather than half empty or three quarters empty.
Finding outlets for relaxation is also important in resolving anxious and depressed thoughts. Relaxation can come in the form of exercise or meditation or sports. Try not to sit on the couch and call that relaxation because it allows your mind the freedom to wander into negative zones of thoughts.
Remember you are not alone and there are many ways you can help yourself if you are proactive.
