Sufferers of the knee pain, did you check yourself for Arthritis??
Arthritis refers to inflammation of the joint in the body, where two bones come together. This condition can be experienced in any part of the body, effecting the movement of the body part almost immediately. It can be the simple wear and tear of the soft muscles, cartilages, or the chronic diseases demanding specific treatments for a long time.

One such body part is the 'knee'. Anybody complaining about Arthritis, in most probabilities, may be referring to the Knee Arthritis. The cause of the Knee Arthritis cannot be pointed out with certainty. It may be a combination of many factors such as cartilage muscles wearing, obesity, heredity, joint injury or aging.

There are two types of knee arthritis that are widely known:
Osteoarthritis: There is a cushioning present in between the two bones of the knee. With the break down or gradual wearing of this cushioning called cartilage, the two bones rub against each other. This is painful, and causes inflammation and loss of mobility, leading to the deformity of the bones. The slow wearing ...
... of cartilage is termed 'Degenerative Joint Disease'.

Rheumatoid Arthritis: This is a chronic joint disorder. It starts with the smaller bones and spreads over to the other parts of the body. It normally starts with hands and fingers, and the shoulders, back and knee eventually get affected over the time. The symptoms are the same as in Osteoarthritis, like swelling, loss of flexibility and immobility, pain, inflammation.

Knee Replacement Surgery or 'Knee Arthroplasty' is a procedure that replaces the weight bearing part of the knee joint, to help relieve the pain and joint disability. The patients of Osteoarthritis are often recommended for this surgical method. This replacement may be partial or total, depending upon the extent of injury or the damage caused in the cartilage. Knee Replacement Surgery, though an effective procedure, should be opted for, only in very advanced cases of Osteoarthritis. There are post-operative cases of pain that must be considered before deciding to undergo the knee replacement. After the operation, the patient seeks the mobility assistance to improve the movement of the replaced knee or the part of the knee. There is an intensive rehabilitation and counselling requires getting back to the condition that can be called 'normal'.

Physiotherapy, in such cases as knee procedures, is the most effective cure and prevention to the pain. Other than the use of anti-inflammatory medicines and the steroids to control pain, the therapy suggests the exercises for improving the range of motion and flexibility of the joints. An intensive counselling with the specialists is of course necessary to discuss which exercise will be the

best, considering the condition of the joint. It is absolutely required to keep in mind that some exercises may be increasing the extent of injury, and should be avoided at all the costs.
Temporary or persisting, it is always advisable to not ignore the knee pain, it might be a start of the cartilage related damage that can be reviewed and cured appropriately through knee arthritis treatment.
