Those people who are involved in the furniture industry know the importance of protecting their wood and furniture from external elements. To protect the furniture, a lot of things need to be done and out of them one is to use polyurethane.

To start with the process, you need to consider a few things like-

A good quality brush is vital- When the painting needs to be done then a good quality brush is of great importance, as it helps in giving a good finish to the piece. When a good brush will be used, then the finish that will come out will also be smoother and it will also avoid any kind of loose bristles spoiling the work.

Keep the finish in mind- When you have to work, then the finish is of great importance which you need to keep in mind. Use a synthetic bush when waterborne poly work has to be done. A brush with natural bristles will be considered as a better product for giving out good finishes. To give good coatings, you can also use an epoxy curing agent.

Mix the urethane properly- When you shake the product vigorously, then ...
... it will bring some bubbles which may not be very desirable, as it will further dampen the appearance of the product. What you need to do is slowly stir the product to avoid the formation of bubbles and just let it settle for 24 hours before you can actually start using the product.

Sanding between the coats can be a good move- When you start with the process of sanding, then it will remove any kind of bumps or blemishes. But when sanding is done roughly, then it will certainly affect the finish and there will be problems with the end result too.

Go where the wood goes- When you start with the coatings, then do it in the same direction of the wood. Go with the grain of the wood and coat as per the direction of the product. This will make sure that there are no lumps in the end result.

Pick wisely- There are various polyurethane choices which you can choose and the one which you choose must show in the end result. Your choice of epoxy curing agent must also be in sync with the urethane choices. A shiny appearance may demand a shinier choice, and an oil based application may ask for an oil based application.

You can easily choose the material and acquire a perfect finish for the product with some practice. Choose the product as per your choice and get the perfect level of coating.
