Did you know that more than half the population of North America is either obese or overweight? This is a staggering number, especially considering this figure keeps going up and up. As a result, it is certainly not surprising that the internet has been flooded with all kinds of magical cures and quick fixes to address this incredible epidemic. Weeding through this sea of promising possibilities can be challenging, but the final reward can be a spectacular surprise.

Among the many instant remedies that promise amazing results is the Body Wrap. Although some wraps are infused with nothing more than the ingredients you can find in a typical moisturizing cream, there are others that offer much more. These wraps are infused with a potent and powerful recipe of all natural, herbal ingredients that when combined, the synergetic result can be near magic. Although this may seem too good to be true, there is a science behind these wraps that ...
... can explain exactly how they work.

The reality is that people who gain weight are not actually gaining more fat cells. The number of fat cells you have is set in childhood and remains constant throughout adulthood. Instead, existing fat cells are becoming inflated and enflamed. In fact, a single fat cell can expand to be approximately 1,000 times its original size. It is these oversized and enflamed fat cells that cause all the unsightly bulges, rolls and cellulite.

So how in the world would body wraps affect your fat cells? First and foremost, the all-natural and herbal ingredients contained within the body wrap work together to promote a process called Lipolysis. This literally means “fat-breaking”. The plant extracts and botanicals get into the fat cell and chop up the large fat molecules into smaller ones, which are now allowed to exit the cell. They are then burned up as energy somewhere else in the body.

The second major function of the wrap is to detoxify fat cells. Oversized fat cells can harbour a substantial amount of toxins. These toxins, when released from the cell, can also have a substantial impact on the size of the fat cells. This is one of the reasons why it is absolutely vital to consume a substantial amount of water during the process. Water will help flush these toxins from the body.

The third major function of the wrap is to promote microcirculation. Microcirculation is the delivery of fresh blood to the smallest blood vessels throughout the body. This is what creates the tightening, toning and firming effect of the body wrap, lasting some people many months. The appearance of cellulite, stretch marks and even scars are also greatly reduced as a result, leaving your skin looking much smoother. Expensive moisturizing creams may appear to do the same for your skin, but the results will usually only last hours instead of months.

For optimal results it is highly recommended you use body wraps as a regular part of your lifestyle. Although some of these body wraps may appear a bit expensive, there are ones that can be purchased online and done from home. These wraps are often just as good if not better than those offered in expensive salons. Although the body wrap is not a substitute for healthy eating and exercise, it can certainly be a pivotal jumpstart and turning point in an overall healthier lifestyle. For some people, a moment of what seems like magic is all they need to inspire them in a positive direction.
