Using Jib Cranes

Jib cranes, also known as slewing jibs, pillar jibs or swing jibs, are typically used for lifting and maneuvering extremely heavy loads. Jib cranes consist of the main supporting steel beam that stands upright and another cantilevered steel beam that is held in place with a brace above or below it to ensure stability and strength.
The upright beam is anchored on a stable support such as a floor, pillar or wall that is stable enough to take the weight of the load. The horizontal beam, also called boom or arm, can swing across a given arch of varying degrees carrying with it the heavy load. This movement can be manual or powered. Other tools are attached to the horizontal beams of jib cranes to facilitate easy and accurate maneuvering of the heavy load.
These additional tools such ...
... as a beam clamp or beam trolley that are typically installed on the jib arm can be manually or electrically pulled along the beam, allowing for easy movement of the load across the work site. Some of the devices that are installed on the arms of jib cranes include lifting magnets, lever hoists, chain blocks, and manual or electric hoists.
As soon as the hoists, clamps and levers among other tools are attached to the jib arm, the load is then attached to the lifting tools. Different loads require different methods for attaching to the lifting tools of the jib cranes. For example, magnetic lifts can be used to carry heavy metal loads. Thereafter, the load is hoisted from the carrier vehicle, shelf or ground; moved along the jib arm, swung along an arch; and finally deposited onto the required location on the site.
Jib cranes have several advantages and can be used for a variety of situations including warehouses, construction sites, dockyards and car garages among others. Smaller versions of jib cranes can be installed on trucks to aid loading and unloading of very heavy loads. These swing cranes are popular because they do not take up a lot of room on the work site. However, they need a considerable amount of headroom to maneuver the load across the site.
In addition to not taking up a lot of space, jib cranes are the generally preferred lifting machines because they offer a fast, safe way of moving around extremely heavy loads. In other words, they do all the hard work for you faster and more securely than you would ever be able to do it manually. If you buy or hire the best-quality jib cranes, you effectively minimize the risk of injury and damage of property on the work site.
It is also clear that these cranes are huge cost savers. By reducing the injuries and damage of property on your site, you eliminate potential huge cost of compensating injured workers and replacing or repairing damaged property. Moreover, using jib cranes considerably brings down your total overhead cost. Make sure that you obtain the best cranes in order to get the most value for your money.
