Cheap travel deals, including cheap airplane tickets, discount hotel rooms, and cheap vacation packages are all great reasons to travel. However, in deciding on a destination you should keep in mind that often where you go is influenced by whether you are bringing along children.

The following are pre-kids bucket list destinations recommended by Budget Travel where vacationers can create their own schedules, be adventurous, sample local wines, and stay up late:

• New Zealand is home to spectacular natural wonders and cool towns. It is a hikers’ paradise. Given that it is a 13 hour flight away from the West Coast, and that kids usually take longer to adjust to significant time changes, this is a preferred adult only trip. If you want to enjoy all the country has to offer, make sure to visit both the North and South Islands. Given all there is to see, the time you will need to adjust to the new time zone, and travel time, this should be at least a 10 day trip.

• Visiting Disney World as an adult is a totally different experience than if you have kids in tow. It is not just that you do not have ...
... to be relegated to kiddie rides, going back to your hotel for naps, or having to decide what restaurants will appeal to children. Perhaps the biggest benefit of visiting Disney without kids is that you are not limited to going over school vacations when prices are higher and crowds are larger. September and October are excellent times to visit and temperatures tend to be more moderate. Disney knows how to keep adults happy and offers gourmet restaurants.

• Paris is viewed as the most romantic city on earth. Activities most kids would abhor include such as strolling down streets hand in hand, taking a sunset boat ride down the Seine, visiting amazing museums and historic sites, can be memorable.

• A Route 66 road trip where you start in Santa Monica, California and drive over 2,000 miles to Chicago can be a very special experience. Along the way you can check out many sites including the Grand Canyon and the St. Louis Arch.

• A Napa Valley vacation should include visits to wineries and days filled with sampling Chardonnay, Merlot, and Pinot Noir. Tourists can bike through vineyards with a tour from Napa Valley Bike tours. Just walking around Downtown Napa can be fun.

• Macao is a former Portuguese colony about 40 miles away from Hong Kong and one of the top gambling destinations in the world.
