It matters little what age group you belong to you need health care insurance. Diseases, accidents and injuries come without any prior notice or warning so, you need to be prepared for anything that may come your way. The health diseases that most people suffer from are cancer, AIDS, diabetes, Hepatitis C, high blood pressure, and obesity. All these diseases and health conditions fall under the category of pre-existing conditions. For those of you who do not know, a pre-existing condition is one which a person is already diagnosed with prior to enrolling in health care insurance policy. The health insurance norms and regulations for getting health insurance with a pre-existing condition are very different as compared to if you were applying for any other type of health insurance.

One of the most common pre-existing conditions which are prevalent is Hepatitis C. This is a very common disease which affects the liver. If this is not treated the virus can eventually cause permanent liver damage. It can also lead to other diseases like liver cancer, cirrhosis of the liver or complete failure of the liver. Since this disease ...
... has very subtle symptoms one rarely knows they are infected with the hepatitis C virus unless they undergo a checkup for liver damage. It can take numerous years before a person is diagnosed with the disease before they can be diagnosed.

Hepatitis C can occur for a short duration of time or it can last up to several years. Acute hepatitis C lasts for a very short period of time. If it is not treated it can develop in to chronic hepatitis C, which is a tougher type of hepatitis C to treat. You need to remember that this disease is highly contagious however, breathing in the same air as an infected person does not mean that you will get the disease. There are other ways through which this disease is transferred, they are:

Drugs addicts share the same needles; this is one way through which this disease can be transmitted. This is one of the most common ways through which this disease is spread. It can also be transmitted through blood transfusion or through organ transplant. If the blood is not tested for any diseases it can cause irreparable damage to the person who it is given to. Using the same needles to administer injections and shots to an individual can also transfer the disease. In some rare cases a person can also get contaminated from using the same needles for piercings and tattoos.

If you have been diagnosed with hepatitis C you need to enroll in a hepatitis C health insurance policy. There are numerous policies from which you can choose from. Ensure that you do not choose the first one that comes your way. Ensure that you read the clauses of the policy before you can sign up for it. Do not hesitate to ask the insurance company any questions that you may have. Clear all your doubts before you can sign up for the policy.

The treatment intended for hepatitis C is very expensive; you can curtail your expenses with a hepatitis C health insurance policy. You could also enroll yourself in a health insurance with pre-existing conditions; this will offer you the same benefits.
