The Interior Minister of UAE said that a new domestic workers’ pact will help enhance the quality of life of the Emirates’ expatriate residents, particularly for the country’s rising number of domestic workers. The minister said that the integrated contract represents the UAE’s dedication to improve its laws and regulations at par with global best practices on a continuous basis. The Director of the Department of Naturalization and Residency added that the center of the new pact is clarity in the relationship between the worker and the employer. The Philippine government not long ago declared that Filipina maids who work overseas have to be paid $400 per month. The US which is discussing a free trade agreement with the UAE, is insisting the UAE to put into operation international standards to its labor force.
