An exercise bike is a great equipment to burn a ton of calories as well as build more muscles. It is designed to provide a low-impact workout unlike you running or walking. Besides, it is more fun, because you can still watch your favorite television programs while exercising. Sometime you can have knee pain after a workout with your bike; it may be a sign to readjust your seating position to reduce stress on your joints. If the pain persists, you should contact your doctor immediately.

There are two categories of bikes, the recumbent and the upright exercise bike. The recumbent has a wider seat with back support. The upright is similar to a regular bike, handlebars out front, pedals below the rider, narrow saddle. Both are good but they still have their own advantages and disadvantages, so you must adjust it to your needs.

Riding on an upright bike allow you to simulate an actual ride like being outdoors. You can change your position freely. However, this bike is not suitable for those who have back problems; it will make you have trouble to get off and get on from the bike. In other words, the upright bike is ...
... not a good choice for overweight or older people. On the other side, the recumbent bike is perfect for those who have back problems; since the bike is lower to the ground than to most upright bikes. You also can easily to get off and get on from the bike to make some rides.

In the past, most of exercise bikes were so far from simple; it so noisy and rode with them felt so boring. Modern bikes are equipped with a dozen of electronic devices that allow you more deeply enjoy your ride. Both recumbent and upright exercise bikes built with an advanced control panel, so you can easily track your progress, such as distance, speed, heart rate, calories burned, and more. Some new type of bikes even come with a magnetic resistance system, which allows you to change your resistance level while riding and get more experience.

An exercise bike is the best to make great aerobic and cardio workouts, as well as strength training. It is also my favorite workout, because it does not hurt my joints, unlike running. The impact against the ground is low, so I am sure that you can make this kind workout almost every day.
