Peru is a country in South America well renowned for tourism, mining and fishing. It is a proven fact that the tourism industry here has grown by 25% in the few years. Tourists are having a somewhat hard time keeping away from this phenomenal tourist destination.

For nature lovers, Peru has a wide range of bird species, 3,000 different types of orchids, a great diversity of animal species to watch and a beach coastline that spans into thousands of kilometers. You can plan to attend one of the vibrant festivals held any time of the year and get ready to witness a mesmerizing theater performance.

Archaeological and history enthusiasts are not left behind as the country has a very rich historical heritage that is still standing up to date. The Inca Empire, city of Caral and the Manchu Picchu are few examples that exhibit the wisdom and practices of civilizations.

The weather in Peru is mainly wet and dry and varies depending on the region one is in. Most tourists visit in June to mid-August as the weather is cool and dry and ideal for trekking, bike riding and mountain climbing. It is a rainy season between ...
... December and March though you can still enjoy the beaches on the arid coast.

The Northern Coast beaches enjoy a year round sunny season and are great to indulge in a bit of water sports. There are wide range of luxury hotels to choose from like the JW Marriott hotel Lima,Delfines hotel and casino, and Milafros Park hotel. For those who prefer affordable accommodation, there are guest houses, budget hotels, apartments and hostels that offer decent pricing.

The region also has an array of travel options for tourists. One can decide to travel by train, ride a bus, motorcycle, ram, and car or catch a domestic flight. Prices on these modes are varied. There are a million things to do in Peru to pass the day. One can undertake tours whether guided, adventure or engage in sightseeing.

Do a little shopping for souvenirs to take back to your loved ones. Enjoy the live entertainment bars and restaurants. Remember that Peru is well renowned for their specialty dishes and delicacies that one cannot afford to miss.

When travelling to Peru it is important to consider a few factors:

- Get a travel insurance cover and visit a doctor for immunizations especially yellow fever. Plan to also have a medical checklist to ward off insect bites, sunburn or even hypothermia.
- Consider your budget. There are ATMS everywhere in the city and most places accept major credit cards. Always remember to carry a little extra cash in local currency.

Visas are not required to visit Peru except for a few exceptions. Visitors still need their passports though as a 30 day or a 90 day stay will be stamped on the passport and one will be given a tourist card as well. Keep the card safely as you have to give it back upon your departure. Traveling to Peru truly lives up to providing an unforgettable experience to any traveler.
