1. Hanging coat rack

If you're lacking in floor space and wall space, then use some ceiling space instead. Use wires to hang your rack, which could be anything from a curtain rod to a strong branch you found in the garden, to the ceiling, and use coat hangers or attach hooks to the bottom so that people can hang their things up as they walk under it.

This is great because if you run out of space, you can purchase more doorknobs, attach another piece of wood underneath the one you have already and make another row. A great and handy way of keeping pretty finds in your home without creating clutter.

5. Go natural

Never underestimate the potential for making things out of natural materials. The things you see in your garden every day could easily be turned into a masterpiece with a little creativity. To make a coat rack, the best things you can use are probably branches, as they have the right shape and it's easy to find one strong enough to hold your coats. They can be painted, sawed, glued and generally reshaped to form an artistic sculpture, and they are completely flexible with size, so even if you only want a little branch to make a jewellery or scarf hanger, you can find one the size you want, or chop up a larger one.
