When you are suffering from Sinusitis you are experiencing a swelling in the lining of your sinuses. A person's sinuses are the spaces that are between the bones in their face where air passes and where a fluid called mucus drains into the nose.

When a person is suffering from sinusitis the swelling that is occurring is blocking the openings where mucus is able to drain into the nose. When the mucus in a person's nose cannot drain properly it can be a very painful experience.

It is extremely common for people to suffer from this uncomfortable condition. A case of sinusitis will very often mirror the symptoms of a common head cold that can be accompanied by both a stuffy or runny nose and moderate to severe head pain. Sinusitis can be treated with several types of remedies including antibiotics, saline and steroid nasal sprays and allergy shots given over a set period of time.
