Average women can more easily relate to and admire the figures of celebrities such as Jessica Simpson and Hilary Duff while it was less realistic to try and attain the likeness of supermodels such as Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington.

As a result of their popularity being unusually thin became fashionable in the 1990s. The era, characterized as ‘grunge’, celebrated models like Evangelista and Turlington, whose body weight was well below average rates.

A change is underway: nowadays almost the opposite look is popular. Celebrities such as realty TV star Kim Kardashian and rapper Nicki Minaj have made it acceptable to be curvaceous, inspiring women around the world to seek out means of becoming even curvier.

The change in trend can be traced back to the early 2000s. While in the 1960s Marilyn Monroe’s feminine physique helped ensconce her in fame, no one with a similar figure became a star until singer Jennifer Lopez emerged.

Around the same time, women began to more closely consider how to boost their behinds with many considering Butt Augmentation in Toronto.

The popularity ...
... of the procedure is a welcome change for many women who had felt alienated by the popularity of the so-called heroin chic look. As a result, the public can identify with the images of more celebrities than had previously been the case.

The body contouring procedure is designed to reshape sagging buttocks or add volume to in areas of flatness. Buttock augmentation is performed by either injecting fat into the buttocks or by inserting an implant. Where appropriate, the technique can also be combined with a buttock lift.

Those who seek to improve the fullness and curvature of their buttocks, but who understand procedure is not meant to double their butt size, are best suited for the procedure.

Ideally, patients have enough fat stored elsewhere on their bodies that can be used for augmentation. When that is not possible an implant is the only option.

Patients have been thrilled with the results of butt augmentation and as a result it is becoming more popular.

Through the popularity of stars like Minaj, Lopez and even Mariah Carey, women have more role models they can look to for reference and for confidence in their own appearances. The diversity of images has helped improved the self-regard of many women.
