Ride Like Royalty With Palace On Wheels
Tourism is not all about animals and physical features. It is also about the rich history left behind by the great people who lived before. When visiting India one cannot afford to miss out on the palace on wheels. This is a train that takes you back to the era of the Maharajas and you get to live it literally because the ambiance and everything else in the train is what you would find in any palace. For seven days one gets to stay in luxurious rooms that have carpeted walls, the bars are well stocked and the services are personalized. There are two cars for dining purposes.
The schedule and booking
The palace on wheels starts its operation from September to April every year and it makes weekly journeys. It leaves New Delhi every Wednesday. When booking one is required to pay twenty percent of the total fee and then the remaining amount is to be completed sixty five days before they depart for their trip. When one is checking in they will have to do so by reporting at the Safdarjung train station which is in New Delhi at five in the evening. In case something comes up and you need to cancel then a certain percentage ...
... of your money will be retained. Ten percent is retained if you cancel sixty days to the trip while twenty five percent is for fifty nine to thirty days before the trip. When you cancel thirty days to the big day then there is no refund.
What does the cost include?
When one pays for travelling in the palace on wheels then they should know that they are paying for something great. Your payment includes food and site seeing. You will ride for eight days and seven nights while boarding in a single, double or triple coupe. Meals are inclusive of evening tea while site seeing is inclusive of visiting monuments and taking part in cultural events. Believe or not but on this train you have already paid for a ride on an elephant plus a ride on a boat.
Other things to note
The management of the palace on wheels can change their tariffs at any time and one should know that payment is not inclusive of taxes or one’s personal expense. One is advised to travel with clothes that are suitable for tropical weather. One can make their bookings via the telephone, mail or internet. There is adequate security during the trip and in case of any health related problems there is always a doctor on call. Mineral water is available for all.
