Acne Myths: Fact Or Fiction?

There are so many myths about acne. Chocolate causes acne, junk food causes acne, toothpaste cures acne - the list goes on and on and on. But don't believe everything you hear. Some of these acne myths may be true, and some of them may not be. I yourclearskinsolution.com will discuss here some of the very most common believed acne myths, and tell you why or why not you should continue to believe them.
The biggest acne myth is that junk food causes acne. In scientific studies, this has not been proven. Some studies suggest a very slight correlation between the two, some studies are inconclusive, and most studies suggest no correlation between the two whatsoever. The conclusion here is that junk food does not directly cause acne, contrary to popular belief.
Ever wonder why your friend can eat tons of junk food but never get any zits? Its because junk food does not cause acne. Junk food does not include any acne causing bacteria, therefore it is not the culprit behind your acne. However, it does contribute to other bodily functions, for ...
... example hormone regulation, which may end up causing you acne in the end. But this is an indirect correlation, and researchers have a much harder time proving this through scientific trials.
To be safe, I would start to eat a little bit healthier. Don't go crazy about it. Just cut back on a few things. Don't eat a donut and a soda for breakfast. That kind of thing. You don't need to be a vegetarian to have clear skin, so don't worry about eating perfectly. Take a daily vitamin too. Don't constantly eat bad food. Make sure to get a dose of veggies here and there. This will keep your body and hormones balanced out.
Another acne myth is the toothpaste cure myth. Some people say that putting toothpaste on a zit overnight will get rid of your zit. Have you tried this? I have both tried it, and studied it. I am confident telling you that no, toothpaste has no effect on the elimination of pimples. This is because there is no acne fighting ingredient in toothpaste. You may think so, but there is not. The only thing toothpaste aids in is helping to dry out the oily skin, and this may or may not help to speed up healing time. But if I were you, I would invest in a quality acne healing cream.
The moral of this article is, don't believe everything you hear about acne. You will end up wasting your time and your money. Do some research, and plan ahead. If you are not careful, you will end up becomming frustrated that you can't seem to find a cure for your pimples, when in reality the cure is so simple and easy!
