As they say, "location is everything," and when it comes to choosing a location for your mobile enterprise there is no exception. This is not to say, however, that mobile enterprises and their options for offices do not differ from most traditional companies. In fact, most mobile enterprises, among other tech companies, are often faced with the option of either locating their employees and operations in a commercial office, or instead, allowing work to be done remotely. While there are certainly pluses and minuses to both sides, when considering where to set up your mobile business, you should undoubtedly consider all available options.

Picking A Physical Location

Choosing where to locate the headquarters of your business can be a decision that is easy to second-guess. In other words, there are so many factors involved that it is nearly impossible to pick the perfect spot for the offices of your mobile enterprise. In fact, very rarely does a company, especially small tech businesses, find the perfect office space for their business right off the bat.

However, when aiming to find the best office space for ...
... your mobile enterprise, there are a few things that you should consider in order to optimize your chances of finding the best option. For instance, one thing that many mobile app companies consider is the location's proximity to manufacturing partners, clients, or industry activity. So, if your company needs to be close to, say, another company that manufacturers some of the machines that your employees use to design apps, then you should aim to find offices nearby. Similarly, if setting up shop in your industry's hub is important to your business, then perhaps you should consider where many tech companies are located, such as Silicon Valley, or new hubs that are developing throughout the country, such as Los Angeles and various parts of Texas.

Additionally, there are other considerations when locating your business in a commercial space, which include things like expenses and preference of employees. Otherwise, if you are still unable to find a good office space, you can always settle for something a bit less desirable and give your employees the option to work from home.

Working Remotely

The idea of having your employees work remotely, or at least giving them the option to, is not an entirely new concept, however, it has made headlines recently. More specifically, Yahoo CEO, Marissa Mayer recently required all of her employees to work from one of the company offices. This was a bit of a shake-up, as a good amount of Yahoo employees had been working remotely at least partially up until that point. Mayer cited reasoning that having all employees work in an office produces better creativity and innovation.

While you may or may not agree with such a decision for your company, it certainly is something to consider. After all, having the employees of your mobile enterprise work from home as they wish, will likely save on certain in-house expenses, such as electricity bills. On the other hand, as Mayer suggests, if creativity begins to slack on the production of your mobile apps, then perhaps bringing your employees in from working remotely will be more beneficial for your mobile enterprise and its app projects. Regardless of which direction you choose, be sure to consider both options, and perhaps even try each out for a trial run.
