The Backstreet Boys are an American vocal harmony group formed in Orlando, Florida in 1993. The group consists of A. J. McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, and Brian Littrell. In the following year, they released their second international album Backstreet's Back (1997), “Backstreet’s back” … for real this time! It’s been six long years, but now, all five founding members of the Backstreet Boys are reuniting. The boy band announced that former member Kevin Richardson is set to formally rejoin the group, after breaking away from BSB in June 2006.
McLean was born in West Palm Beach, Florida to Bob and Denise (née Fernandez) McLean. He is of Cuban and German ancestry on his mother’s side and Scottish, Irish and English on his father’s side. His parents divorced when A.J. was two years old. In January 1986 at 8 years old, he acted in his first role as Little Mike in the 1986 film Truth or Dare.

Littrell was also a judge for the 8th annual Independent Music Awards to support independent artists’ careers. Brian Littrell was born in Lexington, Kentucky, United States. He has one older brother and he is the cousin of former Backstreet Boys member Kevin Richardson. He first started to sing in the choir of his Lexington Baptist church.
Howard Dwaine “Howie D.” Dorough (born August 22, 1973) is an American singer-songwriter, dancer, musician, entertainer, actor and member of American music group. Dorough was born in Orlando, Florida, where he met future friend and bandmate A.J. McLean. His mother, Paula Flores, is Puerto Rican, and his late father, Hoke Dorough, was Irish American. He is the youngest of five siblings. He came to fame in the mid-1990s as a member of the Backstreet Boys.

As a solo artist he sold over 1 million records worldwide. His first album now or Never sold more than 600,000 copies worldwide. He gained fame in the late 90s and early 2000s as a teen idol. He is also the older brother of singer Aaron Carter.
Kevin Scott Richardson (born October 3, 1971) is an American singer and a sometime member of the Backstreet Boys, model, actor, and composer. He was the oldest member of the band during his tenure, and now occasionally performs with the group.
