Shiv Sena, a Hindu nationalist political organization, does not need any introduction as it always remains in news for some reason time and again. Being founded by political cartoonist Balasaheb Thackeray in 1996, Shiv Sena is currently being headed by Thackeray's son, Uddhav Thackeray.

In recent news coverage on April 18, Divya Marathi shared Uddhav Thackeray’s comment asking Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) to clearly announce the name of its Prime Minister candidate. Of late, Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackery also expressed his happiness over defeat of the BJP government in Karnataka. However, Shiv Sena is the alliance partner of BJP in National Democratic Alliances (NDA).

Union Agriculture Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar has always shared a love-hate relationship with Shiv Sena. While Sihv Sena had always enjoyed a stronghold in Mumbai, the remaining Maharashtra is in Pawar’s grip.

DNA, the English language daily, reported that Uddhav Thackeray has urged NCP supremo Sharad Pawar to resign from the Union cabinet and come to the state to protect the interest of farmers reeling under drought. Moreover, in an another blow to NCP chief, Shiv Sena chief also asked Pawar’s comment on the issue of the controversial remarks made by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on drought and load.

Although, both state parties have differences but an unspoken understanding exists between Thackeray and Pawar and the two parties would never stepped onto one another’s toes.
