There are two cardinal sins from which all others spring: Impatience and Laziness. said Franz Kafka almost a century ago, and these words have well stood the test of times till nowadays. When it comes to backup, most of us turn out to be real big-time sinners. I guess, it was the main reason why automatic backup software was invented in the first place.

In our century, when data volumes multiply by dozens of gigabytes even on an average home PC monthly, automatic backup becomes a critical issue. It seems like everybody is aware of the problem, and often has his or her own opinion or some sort of personal experience on how to best backup. Surprisingly only few of them do in fact back up their own data on a regular basis. Not until disaster happens, their data is lost, and only then they start to look for a backup utility with automatic computer backup features.

Isn't that downright cool that some software can do automatic backup completely without your intervention all way long to a remote location, an external hard drive disk, DVD discs or some other storage media? This must be the first thing for you to look for ...
... in a backup application, when you're out in the wild searching for the right backup solution. If some trendy backup program boasts dozens of features and tweakies and says nothing about scheduling and automated backup, just ignore it, don't waste your time!

In the ideal world you install backup software, pick one of the suggested scheduling schemes for automatic data backup, and forget about it altogether. The whole idea of getting a backup utility is to relieve you from constant stress of remembering to save a copy of your data in a safe place. Take the pill and let software do the backup drill! There are a number of shining examples of how decent backup software can handle automatic backup for you.
