Born in 2003, Kingfisher commenced its operations in 2005 with its maiden flight from Mumbai to Delhi. The airline, which is headquartered in Mumbai, has its main hub at the Bengaluru International Airport and the secondary hubs at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai) and Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi. It also has its focus cities in Chennai and Pune. The airline has had a quick growth in the short span of time since its inception. The Kingfisher Class, on the other hand, offered a seat of 18 inches width with a reclining facility of 25 degrees. It also offered meals and other facilities like in-flight entertainment.

The airline offered a well-integrated website to help customers with booking and enquiry of flights and tickets. The online booking offered ‘Plan &Book ‘option, wherein you can plan your trip using the timetable. Before booking tickets, you can check the seat and flight availability by filling in a few details with regard to the names of origin and destination airports, class of ticket, departure date and return date, number of passengers, type of journey whether one-way, round trip or multi-city. This will give you the list of flights. You can choose the flight you desire to fly and book the ticket making the payment.

Kingfisher offered care fares to defence personnel, senior citizens, students and people who are under medical emergency on submission of necessary documents. There were also e-coupons that can be used to buy tickets. They offer enough flexibility and value for money. Furthermore, the airline offered its frequent travelers, King Club, a frequent flyer programme. It offered four-tier membership such as King Red, King Silver, King Gold and King Platinum. Members belonging to the specific tier could earn a lot of benefits and privileges. They earn King Miles for every travel made with the airline. These miles can be redeemed for many benefits.
