• Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary located in Kerala covers the area of 777 sq. km. And was established in 1950 as a wildlife sanctuary and as a tiger reserve in 1978. Exact location of Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is the Hills of Western Ghats. In this sanctuary both flora and fauna are found in great diversity. Elephants, Tiger, Nilgiri Tahr, Nilgiri Langur are the main animals found at Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.
• Earlier the Keoladeo Ghana National Park Bharatpur Rajasthan or Keoladeo National Park was known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. This national park has thousands of birds especially during winters.
• The Gir Forest National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary in Gujarat is the only home of the pure Asiatic Lions. This park is also considered as the most important protected areas in Asian continent because it's unique wildlife collection. Another attraction of this park is Asiatic lions, Indian Leopards, Sloth bears, Jungle cats, Striped Hyenas, Golden Jackals, Indian Mongoose and Indian Palm Civets.
