So you are looking at purchasing a new custom suit but don't know where to start? Well, this brief guide will tell you all the benefits of going custom in a clear and straight forward manner. Before we go into why you should buy a tailored suit, let's have a quick look at the history of gentleman's suits.

The origins of the suit we know today came about at the start of the 19th century due to a man by the name of George Beau Brummell but it can be traced back to Charles II in the 17th century. From what research has shown, the suit did not exist before this period.
At the beginning of the 19th century, Brummell worked with Tailors in London to create a cut and style never seen before. These tailors would create some truly wonderful custom suits which would change suit wearing forever. Brummell focused his efforts not on fabrics, but on the cut and shape of the suit through very careful custom tailoring.
His efforts combined with the highly skilled tailors he worked with created the suit as we know it today.

The suit today is a staple of every mans wardrobe regardless of his background or location. Most ...
... men will have either a wedding suit or an 'Interview suit'. Most men will own either a dark navy or a black suit, which again, works well as a good all-rounder. A nice custom suit will enhance your wardrobe and its absence will leave you lacking a sartorial basic.

So now we will look at why we should consider buying a custom suit over a ready to wear or off-the peg suit. The general rule of thumb for a man is that you should own at least one custom/bespoke suit. Now it used to be the case that going 'Custom/Bespoke' was an expensive option, and still can be if you shop at Savile Row or Italy but with today’s modern technology, many tailoring companies now offer custom tailoring online or in-shop but at a fraction of the cost. But rest assured, whatever option you choose to take, buying a tailored suit will be a worthwhile investment.

It is all about the cut...That is so true. A quality tailor can make the poorest of fabrics look great on a Man. The fit of your suit has got to be one of the major advantages to buying a custom suit. Everything else, such as fabric choice, personal touches etc are secondary. We have all seen Men walking around wearing poor fitting suits and we have all seen Men who we have though 'What a dandy'. Well, when we go 'Custom', we then become one of those 'Dandy's'.

Let’s not forget the fabric. This is also a vital part of buying a custom suit. If you go to a good tailor, you should have a choice of thousands of suit fabrics. This is a great way to create truly ‘one off' pieces that you know you won't see on the high street.
The other advantages include monograms inside and colored button holes.
Once you buy a Custom Suits, you will never buy ready to wear again.
