Creating Shareable Social Media Content
Social media is a great tool to make your content go viral and gain attention. Everyone doesn’t have a budget and team which the big brands have. But, still it’s not difficult to create shareable social media content. If given due attention to the following points, you can make your content shareable:
1. Keep your tweets short and simple: It’s not always possible to keep your tweets short and simple and within the limit of 140 characters. But, you should try to leave at least 20-25 characters in your tweets so that people can write your twitter handle while retweeting your tweets or share their opinions and views.
2. Use Images: An image is worth a thousand words. They are easy to relate to and don’t require an effort on the part of the reader to access information out of it. They also have a higher chance of getting shared. So, post more and more of images and yes, if the image is not yours and you found it from somewhere, give due credit to the source from where you found it.
3. Timing: The best time to post content on every social media platform ...
... is different. Every social network has a different set of users and so the timing of posting content there should be different. You need to experiment and find out that best time which gives you the maximum shares or retweets.
4. Keep a track: Before kick starting your social media presence, you need to be sure of the goal you want to achieve by entering social media. You need to be sure that whether you are looking to generate sales, page views or just growing your fan base for some future purpose. Keep a track of the posts which are giving you more engagement and try to find out whether it’s because of the images or the content and then try to figure out whether they tie into your overall goals or not.
5. Ask people to share your content: You can even ask people to share your content. Yes, ask them for a retweet or to share a post. But don’t do this often. If you do this once in awhile, it will give you results. If you are posting a job vacancy then you can ask people to share it on their wall.
6. Catchy Headline: No doubt good content is what makes people read it and share it but they won’t read it until they like the headline. What attracts people towards a post or a piece of content is its headline. So, your headline should be catchy to draw people’s attention. You will notice that good headline does make a difference.
7. Relevance of Posts: Make your posts relevant. You need to give people a reason that why they should be interested in your content. Don’t post or give them something which you want them to know. Instead, give them something which you know they want or would like to see. If you will not give them a reason to be interested in your content they will not interact.
