Preparing For Your Prom

So this is probably the first big production-number date of your life: the junior-senior prom. You mustered the nerve to stammer out an invitation to the girl of your dreams, and she beamed with the sweetest yes. Now that you're past that hurdle, what else do you two need to do?
First things first, ask your parents how much the budget will be. This will be the deciding factor for whether you'll be wearing custom-made clothes, buying off the rack, or renting outfits for the night. Either way, you'll look like a gorgeous couple if you give enough time to get a proper fitting for the tuxedo and gown. Your date will want to have the right jewelry, evening bag, and accessories. Break in your shoes way before the prom so that you don't sit out half the night because of sore feet. You and your buddies could jointly make arrangements for transportation to and from the event, as well as reservations for an early evening dinner and post-prom group activities.
The one thing that's absolutely expected of you is to present your prom date with the corsage. Usually of flowers or roses, it is a small floral arrangement fashioned ...
... into a wrist corsage, pin-on corsage, or handheld nosegay. The wrist corsage and nosegay are safer bets, as your nervous hands could find it difficult to pin the corsage to your date's dress while her parents happily click away at the camera. Always make sure to use fresh flowers so that it lasts the whole night. The last thing you want to do is have wilted flowers hanging from the dress of your date! Alternatively you could get a flower corsage that can be secured to her handbag or her hair, although you'd have to know in advance what her hairstyle is going to be.
Order the flower corsage up to two weeks ahead; it'll be difficult to just get one on the day itself. Find out what color your date's dress is, and get a flower corsage ribbon to match. She might also want to get a matching boutonnière for you, in which case you can order them together. Pick up the flowers the day before prom night and just store them in the refrigerator so that you don't have to rush to the florist.
On the night itself, arrive at her house on time - present your lovely date the flower corsage, accept the boutonnière. Make sure you have your tickets, and that your phones and cameras are charged and with enough space for all the pictures you're bound to take. Then it's off to an unforgettable night. Enjoy!
