When you come for a visit to Chicago you might be thinking that everything costs so much, but there's plenty to do in the city for little to no cost at all. Lincoln Park, both the park and the zoo are free to everyone all year round. So if you want to take a peaceful picnic on a wide open space, or check out all the animals and the beautiful, lush garden you can at no charge at all. Another park, that's free of charge is the always popular Millennium Park, home of the giant silver bean. Located right on Michigan Ave. Millennium Park is open year round to performances in the summer and ice skating in the winter.

For those who love to explore and learn Chicago has a plethora of museums to choose from that are easy on your budget. The Museum of Science and Industry is perfect for kids and anyone of any age. You can explore the many marvels that science has to offer. The Art Institute of Chicago is also perfect for families or anyone who appreciates art and is conveniently located on Michigan Ave. Another art museum that might spark your interest is the Museum of Contemporary Art. ... are the stage shows. Throughout the year, you can check one of their many performances which stem from theatre, dance and music. Finally, for anyone who loves the water the Shedd Aquarium is perfect, you can see these breathtaking aquatic gems and not worry about your wallet swimming away.

Chicago is known for one thing, pizza and just food in general. Chicago has about 5,000 restaurants and is home to the deep dish pizza. You can spend an entire weekend just to check out the many places to eat. Chicago is also known for its great steak houses and downtown has some of the best in the world. One thing is certain you won't leave Chicago hungry. Chicago also has some of the most unique restaurants in the world including the Rain Forest Cafe. This restaurant is exactly what you would expect and while you're here you should also try an Italian beef sandwich you will be extremely happy.

Chicago has great parks, great museums, great food, but the city also has some of the best music. Known for great jazz and blue Chicago has plenty of venues and festivals year round for you to check out. Chicago has Lollapalooza, the Taste of Chicago, jazz and blues festivals and concerts year round at the House of Blues, United Center, All State Arena, at least one show at Soldier Field and Wrigley Field.

Finally, if you're still not convince on why you should go on a weekend getaway to Chicago perhaps the shopping will change your mind. Michigan Ave. is known as the "Magnificent Mile" because of the endless stores for miles. Another street to check out is State street with blocks of shopping just waiting for you.
So why not treat yourself to a weekend in Chicago.
