Memphis, TN-AR-MS - Innovo Publishing LLC released a new Christian title, Where Would Jesus Go to Church?, written by Dr. Gerald Roe with a foreword by Dr. Ken Hemphill, former President of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Gerald Roe was interrupted while lecturing in his church-planting class by a student who asked, "What if Jesus came back right now to live on earth like He did in Bible days? Wouldn't He go to church the same way He went to the synagogue back then? Which church would He choose? If the true church is all about Jesus, wouldn't it be a good idea to consider what Jesus would look for in a church and make that part of our church planting [and growth] methodology?"

As Dr. Roe makes clear, for the blessings of God to rest upon any congregation, the church must answer two profound questions: What is the true church? and What is the true church to do? In far too many instances, these questions are not being asked, leading to a compromising disconnect between the church's essential biblical character and its earthly effectiveness.

"Gerald Roe has done the Body of Christ a great service ...
... by writing this book. Ecclesiology is much debated today, and there is good reason for that. Many churches today seem to have lost their way. Gerald Roe points them in the right direction-being thoroughly biblical and thoroughly missional. Dr. Roe has the training and experience to guide the way. He has served as a pastor, church planter, home missionary and professor of missiology. His book will enlighten all those who seek to understand what a church should be and what it should do. This book is highly recommended."
-J. Mark Terry, Ph.D., Professor of Missions, Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary

"Gerald Roe has produced a thought-provoking and well-reasoned picture of a church Jesus would be happy to attend, while at the same time providing a challenging set of metrics for any church leader who wishes to see his or her church become spiritually strong and dynamic. I especially like the fact that he has drawn this picture of such a church directly from scripture. You would do well to read and study this book!"
-Dr Jim Wideman, Executive Director/Treasurer, Baptist Convention of New England

"Where Would Jesus Go to Church? is a thought-provoking assessment of the American Church in the twenty-first century, providing examples of efforts by church leaders to be relevant in their setting. It provides a glimpse of how the church is perceived by members and by the non-believing community. This book provides a reminder to the reader that the church Jesus introduced is a gathering of people intentionally focused on the things that mattered most to the Lord Jesus Christ."
-Veryl Henderson, Executive Director-Treasurer, Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention, Honolulu, HI

"Gerald Roe is genuine is his faith and in his walk with God. The vision he has for kingdom work comes out a lifetime of ministry on different levels. He knows what it is to be a pastor, missionary, and educator. You will find Where Would Jesus Go to Church? practical as well as challenging."
-Randy Bradley, North Greenville Baptist Association

"It's amazing how the church so often stumbles over the answer to, 'What should we do to be more effective?' and never quite gets it. This book takes us back to the Word of God for the answer Jesus has been giving for the past 2000+ years."
-Brenda H. Medlock, Lay Leadership Coordinator, Fairview Baptist Church, Greer, SC

Where Would Jesus Go to Church? is available now in the U.S., Europe, and Asia in hardback (ISBN: 978-1-61314-143-4), paperback (ISBN: 978-1-61314-065-9), and a variety of eBook editions.
