A beautifully refined car with a luxurious luggage capacity with this flexible seven seater has done really well even though it is a bit more expensive than others of the same style. The Volkswagen Sharan is a good family car and the best thing about it is that it manages to hide its huge size very well with it coming across smaller than it actually is. This makes it look more attractive and is something that not many other models such as the golf and polo have managed to make. With this model there are an option of four engines two of which are petrol and two diesels. The best-selling are most probably going to be the diesel engines as they work best at combing performance and economy. The diesel engines are 2.0 litre units with two power outputs.

Both of these engines have been refined very well and do excellently however the 1.4 does have a lack of torque at times. When it comes down to it the Sharan is not the most people's choice for an everyday vehicle. The steering tends to under steer when turning slightly fast and is not as engaging as it could be on the motorway rides.

An option available is DCC adaptive chassis control which means the dampers are adjusted at each wheel improving control and comfort. There is more than enough room inside the model for seven adults to sit comfortably and have a pleasant experience and there are sliding doors adding the modern touch. The rear seats can be accessed by these sliding vehicles. Seven seaters do not always return the very best handling on road, but in Sharan's case, that is not true. It drives very smoothly and provides a responsive drive. Driver has a choice of three driving modes - thanks to the adaptive chassis control - sports, normal, and comfort. Other features include stability control and air pressure monitoring systems in tyres.

All these have helped the Sharan to score full five Star Euro NCAP rating. The boot has a capacity of 300 litres which though not terrible is not really enough for a car this size. However to overcome this seats can be folded to make more space and adjustments can be made so that largest space is available. All the materials used in the interior of the car have a top quality touch and feel to them and the dashboard has a quality and style that is near premium. There are soft touch materials were needed and everything is in the right place, the set up is very convenient for the driver and nothing is confusing.
