Unlike a few hundred people in the new Microsoft commercials, fortunately for me, I am not a PC. Even though Microsoft is used on about 90% of the computers in the world, I feel fine being different. New light has dawned upon me about Microsoft within the past few months. It really started when I bought my first Mac. I was always reluctant and resistant to the concept of Macs, but I was in finishing up college, my Dell died on me and I had the opportunity to get a MacBook Pro at a reasonably good price.

Now that I have had my MacBook for a while now I can compare with no bias the differences that I came across when I was a PC to now that I own a Mac. My life hasn't changed considerably; my Mac just makes things a bit easier. The applications and programs are very user friendly, it was very easy for me to learn, I can customize my Mac to the settings that I want, and the best thing, no more viruses or frozen computers. Also, I rarely get the dreaded Application Not Responding, something that happened quite often during the final days of my Dell.

I feel like I have made a change for the better. In my opinion, ...
... PCs represent the old regime that no longer works in the new world. Hopefully in this time of progress many people will soon advocate change as a part of not only their economic and political policies, but their technological ones as well.

Vista has become a huge disappointment. Most PC users and businesses that use PCs still use XP. This causes problems because now people have to choose between something that is flawed as opposed to something that is outdated. I feel that people who resist Macs resist change, they resist progression. People are afraid that the Mac world is not for them, that their programs won't work and they won't understand how to operate within the system.

My advice to those people is to take a chance, live a little. Don't be like everyone else. Don't be one of the many sheep following the PC shepherds off of the cliff. Take a new direction into progression, not regression. Now more then ever is the time for change. We voted for Barack, we are changing our economic policies, when is it time to ditch the old machines and upgrade to new ones? Even Obama uses a Mac. If a Mac is good enough for a Harvard Grad, Magna Cum Laude Presidential Elect, then it's good enough for me.
