The World Truck Manufacturing Industry Report

The World Truck Manufacturing Industry Report is an essential tool for top executives in the truck industry: truck manufacturers; component manufacturers and suppliers; fleet transport operators; management consultants; investment analysts; research institutions and educational establishments; and government bodies and trade organizations.
The truck industry is a bellwether for the economic cycle and long-term economic and industrial growth in different regions of the world. That makes it a key measure of the transformation of the global economy, reflecting most of the significant shifts that have taken place in the relative ranking and growth of different economies and regions. As the BRIC and other developing economies mature and their paths diverge from those of the traditionally dominant regions of North America and Europe, changes will continue in the structure and balance of manufacturing and assembly right around the world.
“The World Truck Manufacturing Industry” maps the impact of the challenges and opportunities created by the transformation of the global economy on the truck manufacturing sector. To ...
... analyse the current position of the global truck industry and identify the key trends the report looks at critical economic, demographic and traffic data for each region and major countries. The report presents data on truck sales and production, and describes truck manufacturing and assembly operations in every producing country.
Regional chapters
Within each regional chapter, all truck manufacturers with headquarters or major subsidiaries in the region are profiled with a brief history of mergers and acquisitions, corporate structure, shareholders, market strategy, model range, sales performance and financial performance (the latter two covering 2007 – 2011).
In the major truck manufacturing regions, all smaller-volume, specialist truck manufacturers are also recorded. Within regions such as Africa and Southeast Asia, where there are mostly only assembly operations that are supplied with CKD kits from manufacturing facilities elsewhere, these are listed by OEM with models produced and other key information.
Manufacturer profiles
Analysis of each of the seven leading ‘world’ truck manufacturers that have major manufacturing facilities in at least two major regions [Europe, North America, Asia and South America] is presented in a separate suite of reports within the chapters on the major regions. In each of these reports, all of the OEM’s subsidiaries are included along with the information included in the relevant regional chapters. These ‘world’ OEMs include: Daimler Trucks (Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner, Western Star, Mitsubishi Fuso); Volvo Trucks (Volvo, Renault Trucks, Mack, UD Trucks); Scania; MAN; Paccar (Kenworth, Peterbilt, DAF Trucks); Iveco and Isuzu.
