Getting New Teeth NJ, Reason # 1: You Can Get Sedated!
Perhaps the worst part of any surgery is the crippling anxiety and fear most patients experience prior to going in for their procedure. Through the use of medications that affect the central nervous system, implant specialists can provide patients with an experience that is totally anxiety-free. Sedation can be administered either orally (in pill form) ...
... or intravenously. Either way, sedation helps to calm a patients’ nerves, making them feel totally relaxed and at ease.
In most cases, patients’ don’t even remember their experience in the dentist’s chair and can wake up with the procedure already over. Successfully addressing fear and anxiety is a major step forward in providing patients with as pleasant an experience as possible and is a fantastic reason why one doesn’t need to feel nervous about surgery.

Patients will also receive local anesthesia before the surgery commences. Today there are “more potent” varieties available to your dentist than in years past. This Local Anesthesia completely numbs the area being operated on; eliminating all associated pain and discomfort. In some cases where patients are undergoing complete oral rehabilitation (getting all new teeth), general anesthesia may be preferred, which means that you will be unconscious throughout and wake up with everything already over. Patients need not worry about experiencing any kind of discomfort during the course of their procedure.
Getting New Teeth NJ, Reason # 3: Post-operative Pain Management
It is normal for patients to experience some degree of discomfort and localized sensitivity in the days following dental implant surgery. To remedy this, patients will typically be sent home with prescription narcotic pain relievers to help them feel as comfortable as possible while their new teeth heal. In most cases however, post-operative pain is minimal and patients report feeling pain-free and back to normal within a day or two.
