When young people go away to college they may feel lost until they can find some friends or some activities to join. Whether one goes to college in one’s hometown or far away, the college years are a period of adjustment. There are some Methodist Christian fellowship groups in Boulder, CO, for example, that extend a hand to college youth. These groups invite students to participate in Bible study, community service and other ministry activities. Wherever one is attending school participating in campus ministry groups can be a rewarding experience.

One of the most important outcomes of this exploration is the opportunity to put faith into action through community service such as serving the less fortunate in soup kitchens, homeless shelters and other areas where need is great.

Another important part of a college student’s life is wrestling with career decisions. Christian fellowship groups offer leadership development opportunities and activities where people can get experience in real-life situations that can then be used to help build work experience. These volunteer opportunities can occur within the United States or in other countries; as sometimes Christian ministries take trips to lands where people need humanitarian assistance.

For some young people college is the first time that they have been faced with making decisions on their own. It can be comforting to know that fellowship can be found in some of the campus Christian ministry groups. Whether one wants to study the Bible, trade ideas with people of different faiths, help the less fortunate or just have a good time, Christian fellowship is a great idea. Usually people just visit the headquarters and inquire; there’s always room for more and everyone’s ideas and unique gifts are welcome.
