Detroit Red Wings Pavel Datsyuk made a “never to be forgotten” goal during Game 4 against the Anaheim Ducks. He raced down the left wing and with laser-like precision, sniped a bullet of a wrister that caught the top corner of the net, over the outstretched glove of the goaltender. It even hit the Gatorade bottle that was on top of the net! The Gatorade bottle went flying. The puck sped out of the cage so incredibly fast that Pavel’s teammate Mikael Samuelsson thought the play was still alive and hit the rebound back at the net.
The Red Wings captain, Henrik Zetterberg exclaimed, “I had a front-row seat there in the middle, so I saw him gather up some speed on the flank there, and not many people can pull that shot off like he did at full-speed,'' He then added with a grin, “It was nice to see the water bottle get destroyed there."
The truth is, Pavel Datsyuk does something amazing at almost every game. His teammates see him do extraordinary things with the puck almost every night. Still, they can’t help but marvel when he makes an unreal pass, or pulls of a slick move, or scores a sensational goal.
