Choose Stage 3 Prostate Cancer Treatment

Stage 3 prostate cancer can be detected by only one way, digital rectal examination. It is very important to get this done because there are several different stages of prostate cancer. This being said having a screening can better determine whether or not you are high risk or low risk. With stage 3 prostate cancer there are three different types of tumors you must look out for, T3a, T3b, and T3c. These are broken up into three different categories because they appear differently. T3a is actually a tumor that has grown outside of the prostate only on one side. T3b is when the tumor has grown outside of the prostate on both sides. T3c is one of the worst cases where the tumor has now grown out of the prostate and has affected the seminal vesicles. Stage 3 is one of the more high risk prostate cancer stages. Luckily patients with stage 3 prostate cancer do not have risk of it affect other parts of the body or even lymph nodes.
Depending on the above factors decides what type of treatment one person is going to go about taking. Usually people are taking the prostate cancer treatment to help improve their symptoms and prolong ...
... their lives. Remember when you consider treatment you must also carefully review how the treatment will react to the rest of your body. Prostate cancer is still considered very trial and error. Most of the trials are to help find a better understanding towards treating this cancer. Prostate cancer happens to men when they have reached an age of fifty and older. Since stage 3 is one of the strongest prostate cancer stages, men are more likely to die from the cancer rather than with the cancer. There are a lucky few who have actually been extremely curable with stage 3. It has always been recommended to use more than one treatment to help get past or work with the cancer. There have not been very many promising results from the use of one single treatment.
Before any serious steps towards treatment are considers doctors will always try and figure out certain aspects with stage 3 prostate cancer. At this stage spreading may or may not become a risk depending on severity. This is important to know to see if this is curable or not. It is also important for the doctors to know how fast the cancer is growing or will grow.
