Going for a job interview can be stressful and nerve racking but there are proven interview techniques and tips that can be utilized to help.

Number 1 is always to arrive for your interview on time. Nothing screams unreliable to a prospective employer like someone who isn't punctual before they are hired! Plan the day's itinerary well ahead leaving time to deal with any gremlins that may rear their heads.

Dress professionally. It doesn't matter if you are interviewing while the office is observing casual Friday. You don't work there yet and it is important to set the proper tone for your meeting. Wear a suit, it will send the right message.

Know the job.
Make sure you are familiar with the position for which you are applying.
Have some questions of your own prepared for the interviewer as they generally provide the opportunity to ask them at the end of the session.

Know the company. Research your potential employer before you interview. This will impress them and signal you are serious about your interest in a career with their firm.

Always maintain a positive attitude. Bad mouthing a former (or current) employer is a major turnoff for most interviewers.
