In the Catalonia region of Spain, there us a town called Lloret de mar. It is a very famous resort area and holds a lot of importance on the Costa Brava coast. Lloret de mar is not as far from Barcelona and Girona and it is therefore a very accessible area either by road or train. It has a population of almost 40,000. The most popular tours in the area are packaged holidays. The most visitors come in during the summer holidays to enjoy the wonderful weather that is enjoyed in the town of Lloret de mar. The town’s main beach is a very clean one and is a must visit when one is in Lloret so as to sample one of the very best.

The nightlife in Lloret is also very amazing and attracts a great crowd that comprises of mainly young people between the ages of 18 and 30 years. Most of the tourists are from the European countries.

The castle of sant Joan is also a very interesting medieval place to visit. It dates to the eleventh century. It protected Lloret from attacks that came from sea. The castle was used up to the 17th century. The tower is the only bit of the fortress that stands to date. When one visits the tower, he/she is able to get the most perfect view of the entire the area.

At the end of the main beach stands the spectacular sculpture of the fisherman’s wife. It is a monument that is made out of bronze. It is very emblematic for the town. There is an ancient belief that when one touches the foot of this magnificent sculpture and then look into the horizon, any of your wishes will come true.
