Altea is a municipality within the province called Alicante in Spain. It is on Costa Blanca lying close to the Mediterranean Sea. It is a very fascinating place that attracts many people every year. Altea’s economy is actually based on tourism in the present day. The growth in tourism actually started over the 50’s due to the weather that was very good in the area as well as the streets and beaches. The streets are also fascinating due to the houses that characterize them. They are whitewashed and have been standing for many years. There are the Serra De Bernia bluffs to the north of the town.

There are many places of great interest in Altea. One is the streets. They are crooked and narrow and you can at times be able to get a glimpse of the sea. The most important place that holds a lot of impotence in Altea is the church called our lady of solace. It is one of the most visited places in all of Altea and is totally a place to visit while in the area as there is much to look forward to here.

The church can be easily identified because of the domes that are blue and white and are tiled with ceramics that are ...
... glazed. There are also many restaurants all around the church where one can have a meal while viewing the Mediterranean as well as other parts of Altea. It is not a very easy place to reach and you may actually have to walk some distance so as to reach the church. The streets are very narrow and a car cannot go through so you have to park some place further away from the church. Some places of the streets are rather steep or bear stairs making it even more impossible for cars to go through.

Altea is a beautiful place and it is near other areas of interest such as Calpe and Benidorm. Some of the fishing villages have been maintained up to date thus one can get a picture of the real Spain while in the area.

The sierra De Bernia Mountains are at close proximity with the municipality and are fascinating to visit. While at the mountains, Altea is a vision to behold and you can see the coastline. A lot of constructions are being set up at the mountain areas of Altea mostly dedicated to hotels and rentals. It is an area that is still growing and it is interesting to see what the area will bring.
