Compared to this, the one-second rule draws on the primordial behavior of the viewers. This draws on emotional aspects and psychological aspects that pertain to humor or nostalgic contexts. In the second rule, the users leverage their attention slightly. This is drawn from the trusted feel of the brand. However, it is important to comprehend that while too much designing can trigger the flight/fight mechanism, too little can cause an alienated behavior. The third is the five-second rule. This happens after processing the website mentally. The resultant is drawn from the reactions to the content. The users can now determine whether the website will attract or detain users. When designing a website, all these rules need to be kept in mind. The users would otherwise grow weary and completely rely on making snappy judgments to review a website.

Drawing attention of the users

The website should have the ability to draw the attention of its end-users. This can be achieved by using a single focal point in the page. Clutter should be avoided, as this distracts and confuses the audience. Implementing call to action buttons and introducing various introductory messages in the web page is welcomed by the audience. The web page can be either comical or grand but should be able to draw the attention of the user. Once the customer is drawn to the website, it is important that the user be invested in the experience. The web page should be designed to instigate action. The customers should then only be involved in the processes.
