If you love the outdoors, then you know that a camping tent is an essential part of your outdoor gears and equipment. And if you spend a lot of time on the road, out in the open, or in the field as a result of your lifestyle, professional, and just for the love of the life out of doors, your tent must be made of high quality material and best suits your needs.

What should you keep in mind when looking for the best tent? Here are the some pretty good pointers:

1. Easy to set up - It is an important feature that the tent you want to buy is easy to set up and pitch. When you are tired from the travel or hike, a relatively simply-designed tent is a good thing. After the activities and it's time to pack up and put away everything, and so again, it would really be a big help if you don't have to take up so much time on such a simple chore as dismantling your deal.

2. Waterproof - The weather, they say, is most likely one of the most unpredictable things there is. The sun is shining brightly one moment and then the next thing you know, the sky has darkened and the smell of rain is in the air. Moments later, ...
... rain drops are falling on you head. The tent of your choice needs to be waterproof so that even with a heavy downpour outside, you can remain warm and snug inside.

3. Lightweight - On a road trip or when going camping, your tent is not the only essential equipment you need to bring. You also need to bring food, water, first aid kit, and emergency supplies and these can be pretty heavy. More particularly when you are going mountain climbing or hiking wherein you need to put everything in your backpack, having a lightweight tent is more than just a feature, it becomes a necessity.

4. Has enough room - You need enough space to move around inside the tent. If you have an especially large body frame then space is a major consideration for you. Also, if you have a fear of enclosed places (that's why you love the outdoors in the first place, right?), then having enough room is also a must.

5. Sturdy - Since this is the outdoors we are talking about, your tent must be able to withstand the rapidly changing conditions outside. You need strong poles to hold up your tent and prevent it from collapsing from torrential rains or strong winds.

6. Value for money - Don't be fooled by the seemingly amazing features you saw and heard, do your own research, ask your camping buddies, and read consumer feedbacks on the internet. Value for money means paying reasonably for your purchase. The one you have your eye on may be a bit too expensive than the next one but when you evaluate it further, you're most likely going to find out why the extra cost. You may be paying for a higher quality tent or one with better ventilation. Choose wisely and spend you money sensibly.

So there you go. Some pretty good tips for choosing the right tent for you and your needs.

Of course, the price is an issue but so is the quality. Pay the extra cost if you need to have a good and reliable tent to take with you on your trips. You'll be quite grateful for paying a little more when you're caught in a heavy downpour but not a drop trickles inside, and you're pretty warm and comfortable inside. Don't be a miser, choose and invest on the right tent.
