Orlando, well known for its many cheap travel options, including cheap airplane tickets, discount hotel rooms, cheap vacation packages, and cheap auto rentals, is called by some the “Theme Park Capital of the World.”

The following is a breakdown of the ten best Orlando theme parks, according to the website 10Best:

• Aquatica Orlando is a combination aquarium, zoo, water park, and amusement park. It is home to 38 slides and 84,000 acres of white sand beach, with private cabanas available to rent. Its Dolphin Plunger is a clear tube water slide that takes riders through the Commerson’s dolphin habit.

• Disney’s Epcot takes up 305 acres and sports an aquarium, a 1.3 mile promenade around the World Showcase Lagoon, 11 pavilions which celebrate nations of the world, and many attractions including the iconic Spaceship Earth.

• Universal Studios Islands of Adventure brings some of its guests’ favorite movie experiences to life. Visitors can wander through the world of Hogwarts at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, take thrilling raft rides past dinosaurs on the Jurassic Park River Adventure, ...
... meet favorite children’s book characters at Seuss Landing, get wet in Toon Lagoon, as well as fly through the air on the Marvel Super Hero Island attractions.

• LEGOLAND Florida is the biggest LEGOLAND park in the world, with 50 rides, shows, and attractions spread out over 150 acres. LEGOLAND is designed to appeal to kids between the ages of 2 and 12.

• Disney’s Magic Kingdom is home to a 189 foot Cinderella Castle. The park has six themed areas including Main Street USA, Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Tomorrowland, and Fantasyland. Be sure to check out “It’s A Small World” and the Jungle Cruise, as well as some new rides.

• Discovery Cove feels more like an exclusive resort than a theme park in part because guest access is restricted to no more than 1,300 per day. Probably no other theme park can claim to be crowd free. Guests can get up close with dolphins, sting rays, tropical fish, sea otters, and exotic birds. This is an all inclusive park where guests do not have to pay extra for food, towels, or snorkeling equipment.

• Universal Studios Florida brings pop culture to life on its 107 acres. Relive classics such as E.T. and The Terminator, as well as meet characters of newer releases such as Despicable Me and Shrek.

• Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a zoological park where guests can take a safari ride through the wilds of Africa, complete with real animals, raft down the Amazon, and ride a runaway train through Mount Everest. 1,500 animals representing 250 species can be viewed.

• SeaWorld Orlando is home to Shamu, the world’s most famous killer whale. SeaWorld’s rides and roller coasters set guests’ hearts racing. Comedy shows feature sea lions and otters.

• Disney’s Hollywood Studios takes guests inside the world of show business with live stunt shows, animation galleries, a backlot tour, and lots of live shows, rides, and attractions. Not to be missed is the plunge riders experience on the Twilight Tower of Terror.
