Is the Dodge Caravan a good choice for a family vehicle? My sister had a Dodge Caravan that she purchased in the mid 1990's and it lasted her for over a decade. It was still running ok when she decided to sell it and upgrade.

The Caravan got reasonable gas mileage and had lots of room in it for bringing the kids to school and soccer practice. She also liked the fact that she could go on a big shopping trip (say, to the grocery store, hardware store, and the mallâ€all in one trip) and there was plenty of room in her Dodge Caravan for everything that she purchased throughout the day. No need to stop at home and drop things off in between (as you would with some smaller vehicles such as an SUV or Sedan.

When she decided to get a new vehicle a few years back, she decided that she liked the Caravan so much that she would get another one! Naturally, a lot of new features had been added, but much of what she liked about the first one was still intact.

One thing that has been great about her choice to have the Dodge Caravans is that long trips have been easy to do. For example, we live in Michigan's ...
... Lower Peninsula, and we travel north each summer to our family cottage in the Upper Peninsula. It generally takes at least 10 hours to make this nearly 600 mile trip. The Caravan has offered the space to really enjoy this long trip, in addition to holding up well to the wear and tear that long trips can put on a vehicle. After years of making this trip, my sister's van has really held up and keeps on ticking, so to speak!

My sister and I would both recommend the Dodge Caravan to anyone considering a minivan or anyone considering an SUV or similar vehicle.
