Coming from the family of Citroen C-segment’s hatch, the new Citroen C4 Picasso is a spacious and larger than the hatch. The truth was, however, that the all new C4 hatch still have some of the mechanical underpins of the previous generation of hatch. So it is feared – from an engineering point of view – that this new C4 Picasso might also be sharing the same problems. The new C4 Picasso is a little shy of 12cm from the Grand Picasso seven-seat, the exterior template is of Grand but the third row has been taken off with mild revision of the suspension. It has entirely different body shape past the A-pillar, if you compare it with the Grand seven-seater, twin-hatch opening at the tailgate looks real nice. There is a removable modubox fitted in the car’s boot which serves as a shopping trolley.

... model resemble a pair of armchair. The second row seats are individually mounted and designed in such a way that they all can easily recline, slide and even fold flat. It gives a smooth and comfortable ride on the road, while the Citroen C4 Picasso’s 2.0-litre diesel engine makes it fast enough. The chassis of C4 delivers relaxed and steady ride, which pampers better than entertain.

The C4 Picasso comes in four trim levels which are VTR, VTR+ and Exclusive. The Exclusive version is powered by the Citroen C4 Picasso 2.0-litre diesel engine, with a six speed semi-automatic gearbox and pneumatic rear suspension system (which allows the boot loading deck to be lowered) and 18 inch alloy wheels. It also has more comfortable and spacious seats. The Citroen C4 has a notchy manual, a jerky semi auto and residual values are dreadful. However, its good value, spacious seats and big boot make it a stylish great buy. It’s a great rival to the Ford C-Max. The Citroen C4 Picasso engines are offered in two petrol units: a 1.8-litre 125bhp producing 170Nm of torque, CO2 emissions 190g/km, does 0-62mph in 12.7 and a combined economy of 29.4mpg.

The other one is: a 2.0-litre 143bhp producing 200 Nm of torque, CO2 emissions 190g/km, does 0-62mph in 12.1 and a combined economy of 29.4mpg. The Citroen C4 Picasso diesel engines are offered in two units: a 1.6-litre HDiF 110bhp producing 240Nm of torque, CO2 emissions 155g/km, 0-62mph sprint takes 13.7 seconds and a combined economy of 39.9mpg. The other one is: a 2.0-litre HDiF 138bhp producing 270 Nm of torque, CO2 emissions 159g/km, it takes 13.1 seconds to reach 0-62mph and a combined economy of 38.6mpg. VTR+ and Exclusive models are equipped with EGS6 six-speed gearbox. The VTR+ and Exclusive trims are also available in Airdream versions. If you prefer looks over driver appeal and you are looking for a more car-like five seater, the C4 Picasso is a versatile and attractive family car.
