Useful tips to follow when purchasing a pre-construction condominium
There are several Pre-construction condos in Toronto for sale, but choosing right one is not an easy task. Here are a few tips to help you with your purchase. Check out the model condo suite before deciding on whether to buy or not. Most condos have ceiling heights between 8 to 10 feet. However, the model condo suites sometimes have ceilings of 16 feet that are usually painted black with lighting dropped down to 8 or so feet, making the rooms feel airier. It is therefore advisable to check with the agent where the ceiling will actually start to get a fair idea of what ceiling height you will actually get. The model condos could also display a certain type of flooring and upgrades like backsplashes that might not be standard in all suites. Check out what is standard and what the extras and upgrades will cost. Study the floor plans carefully. What might appear excellent on paper to a lay man might in fact be filled with space that is unusable and doors opening in odd places. Also ignore furniture that is drawn into a plan and it may be smaller in size than what you have. It is better to ask for the room dimensions and imagine a floor plan without any drawn-in furniture. Check if the builders are reputable and get all promises made by them in writing. Go round the neighbourhood where the building is located and check what local amenities are available, as these are often not to scale in the amenities map provided.
