You can sponsor a child in India no matter where you live in the world. This is the least you can do to help so many families in distress overcome the handicap of illiteracy, so that at least one person in the family can win them their daily bread.

So many families live below the poverty line even in modern day India. People exist who live below 1$ on a daily expenses scale. You can help to change that. You can play god to so many needy people in India that need your support and help generously. It doesn’t take much. All you have to do is get in touch with so many NGOs in the country that help the poor directly. They set up offices in rural contexts to help enable their charity work. They work with the community to get rid of illiteracy, poverty, disease, death and destruction. You can help out in whatever capacity that you are able.

If you live in any first world country, you must try to help out charity work in the ghettoes and villages of India. Although the country is progressing at a rapid rate, there are still people who are left in abject poverty.

There is no point wasting time in thinking ...
... about poverty and crying over it. What is needed is action on the ground and serious grassroots changes. What is needed is to change laws and make caste irrelevant so that scores of people can make their lives instead of biting the dust in utter poverty.

You can make that difference if you set your mind to it. Once you log on to charity work, much like Bill Gates and so many entrepreneurs of the West, you can actually make policy changes that affect the lowliest of people in the poorest areas.
Do you even know that there are areas in India that have no water, electricity, roads or schools? Thousands of people live in such destitution and then they plague economically richer zones adding to the problems there. Eg in Mumbai migrants from all over India set up shanties and work in illegal businesses that threaten their safety and health. There are school children who study in the night and work in the day selling tea and coffee; washing utensils and cleaning up the mess in makeshift tea stalls, hotels and liquor joints.

Forget a bed to sleep, or a roof over their heads, so many Indians sleep on the pavements without any food for long working days, no medical facilities, no schools, hospitals or medical help. Do you want to change that, or do you want to live with these things, turning a blind eye to the misfortunes of others?

You can be a change agent, and make all the difference..Yes, you can..
