Many of the Peru travel tours include a combination of trekking through ruins or up and down mountains. Proper footwear is a must for this part of your adventure. Something waterproof and lightweight that supports your ankles is best. There are many options for light hiking boots that would be perfect for trekking in Peru.

Just about any adventure you choose will include tours of Machu Picchu. This site of ancient ruins has stood the test of time for centuries. With its tiny villages and winding rivers, you can plainly see why it is considered one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. It is also home to a huge variety of native plants and wildlife.

Another part of Peru vacations packages are biking tours. Your tour group will drive you up the mountain, usually several hours away. ...
... You will spend the next few days biking down the mountain trails and through small villages. In the evenings, you will make camp and sleep. Exploring local towns is an added bonus to these tours.

Camping skills, including setting up and tearing down tents, are a must. Many Peru vacation packages require camping in between staying at your hotel. When you are out trekking or biking for the day, it is usually advisable to spend the night out to rest. Luckily, small towns and hot springs seem to be the most common places to stop.

If camping isn’t at the top of your list of Peru travel tours, there are always other adventures to be had. Some guided tours are day trips and allow you to return to your hotel each night. These options are better for people who do not have a high endurance for constant physical extremes. People with low to moderate fitness levels should stick to these adventures.

There are certainly different ways to take tours of Machu Picchu. There are luxury trains to take you there, equip with plush seating and champagne. Then there are the people that wish to have a more hands on experience and backpack their way there. Of course there are many ways to do it in between these two extremes.

No matter how you plan your vacation, you will have a fantastic time. With so many Peru travel tours available to you, you will have no trouble finding one that fits your physical needs, your sense of adventure, and your budget.
