Surgery is never cheap. And when you consider that the older procedures required to give edentulous (having no teeth) and near-edentulous patients a new set of teeth could require multiple surgeries and bone grafting, it’s not hard to understand why so many Americans opted instead for traditional removable dentures. This is in spite of the fact that dentures often come with so many challenges, including poor bite function, the degradation of one’s youthful smile aesthetics and oral discomfort. The cost of new teeth in New Jersey was just too expensive to be considered justifiable by many. The innovation of All on FourTM dental implants, however, changed all of this.
In this two-part article series, we shall be explaining just how this sophisticated dental implant procedure can save patients tens of thousands of dollars on the cost of new teeth.
Reducing the Price for New Teeth: The Number of Dental Implants
A single dental implant costs a few thousand dollars and traditional approaches to oral ...
... rehabilitation could require as many as ten dental implants per jaw. In the early 1990’s, however, Dr. Paulo Malo discovered that, through the strategic placement of only four dental implants in regions of the mouth that are naturally more resistant to atrophy, enough support could be provided for a complete set of replacement teeth in the form of a dental prosthesis. This cut down the number of dental implants required from as many as 20 to 8 for patients that required both arches replaced. You do the math.
Reducing the Price for New Teeth: The Number of Surgeries Required
In order to successfully place so many dental implants, older surgical protocols would require multiple surgeries. Prior to the innovation of All on FourTM implants, a patients’ journey to oral rehabilitation would be broken down into several, more manageable sessions. The costs of these procedures would add up tremendously and this is not even to mention the amount of time spent in recovery between each surgery in order to acquire new teeth in New Jersey.
The All on FourTM, on the other hand, typically only requires a single surgery owing to the lesser number of dental implants and the use of sophisticated diagnostic medical equipment, such as Cone Beam Computed Tomography for planning. Only one surgery equates to a cost of new teeth that is substantially lower than that incurred by traditional dental implant procedures.
In addition to the direct cost savings on the number of implants and the number of surgeries, patients are saved many months of healing time and days that would otherwise be spent off from work. These indirect costs add up!
Stay Tuned for Part 2
To find out how the innovative All on FourTM dental implant protocol can save patients tens of thousands of dollars on their new teeth, stay tuned for the second installment of this two-part article series. Next time, we will be looking at how the All on FourTM typically avoids the need for bone grafting surgery, which is not only incredibly painful, but also expensive. Additionally, we’ll look at the long-term benefits afforded by this innovative teeth replacement procedure.
