Are you tired of eating in fancy restaurants and are you looking for that place to eat which is just like a home from home, where you can relax and enjoy your food and have a great time with your friends and family. Well there is a great place where you can do exactly that and this place is called The Pancake Parlour. It was first opened back in 1965 by two men called Pat Oliphant and Peter Von Czarnecki they had this idea that pancakes would be served all day every day and covered with sweet and savoury toppings. These two men wanted to create restaurants in Melbourne where you could play chess and spend time relaxing, but before the Pancake Parlour opened no one believed that it would open let alone be a success. But all those people were wrong and The Pancake Parlour was a roaring success with people coming back for more and it didn’t just stop there. But it became so busy that customers started helping out in the restaurant doing the washing up, waiting and serving tables and to just having to wait to be serves at all. It became so popular with the theatres which it was near too that all the artists and overseas artists ...
... used it as the place to be seen and even the Barry Humphries could be found there.
Then in the 1970s they decided that they needed to expand their business and so they opened other restaurants in Victoria, they opened The Pancake Kitchen in Geelong and Frankston and another Pancake Parlour in Falls Creek. To this day they have now opened and been a success in 11 differentMelbourne restaurants.
Now you may be thinking to yourself that pancakes are just pancakes but you would be wrong. The food in Melbourneespecially pancakesare obviously good otherwise they would not have been able to open so many restaurants in so many locations and they do not just have pancakes on the menu they have many things to offer. If you take a look at their menu you will see that they offer breakfasts, salads, pancakes savoury and sweet, ice cream and they even have different types of drinks to try as well. You could spend all day looking at their menu and there is just not enough hours in the day to try everything they have to offer on their menu.
The Melbourne food looks so exciting and inviting, it would seem almost impossible for anyone to look at the menu at the Pancake Parlour and say that they do not like even one thing on their menu, with so many things to choose from you won’t know where to start. The Pancake Parlour has become so big that they even have an online gift shop where you can buy food items, they sell gift vouchers, you can buy T-shirts and other forms of dress wear and they even sell gift ideas. It is amazing to think that from the derelict shop that these two men saw back in the 1960s that the Pancake Parlour would become such a huge success even to this day and all from selling pancakes.
