Dental Cavities
Today's generation lot of people suffer from holes in their teeth, these are technically referred to as Dental Cavities. One of the most common reason for losing teeth at an early age is Tooth Decay, It can affect any people of any age.
When you intake food ,if the enough saliva to digest or neutralize the acids is not found then the food particles leads to the formation of Bacteria which in turn produces acids. In fact the Bacteria, acid, food residues and saliva mix to form Plaque
Plaque is found to be very sticky substances that usuallt stick to the back molar and the corners of fillings. If the plaque is left untreated it results in the formation of Tartar . Plaque and tartar together invite gingivitis and periodontitis.
Dentist highly recommends that you brush regularly after your meals, this is bacause the Activity of Plaque is initiated soon after your meals, if this is not stopped it leads to the formation of tartar.

It is advisable to have a regular Dental check up's as most cavities are found in the early stages . Cavity affected teeth seems to be normal visually but the defects are found when xrays are taken.
Treatment:
Treatment at proper time can allivate the effects of cavities, These treatments may involve Fillings, crowns, Root canals. Dentists use fillings like gold, Porcelain and Composite resin to replace a decayed tooth. However the Porcelain and resin materials are highly preffered as they match the natural looking teeth. Silver and Gold amalgam may also be used as they are highly durable, but due to aesthetic reason people prefer such fillings for back molar.
