Most manufacturers of Mp3 players outline, create and launch their product in the market for the only purpose of listening to music. Yet, in the last couple of years a gradually growing number of people by means of MP3 players are using them for listening to audio books. Audio books are books being read out by actors, authors or narrators.

You can listen to them while doing some work and living the experience of being in the story setting at the same time. There is an intrinsic difference between the necessities of using the MP3 players for listening to music and for hearing audio books being read out. If you are thinking of using your brand new MP3 player for listening to MP3 audio books, do deliberate and reflect upon the following aspects:

1. Behavior after interruption - This aspect is the most important consideration you should think about. While you are hearing audio books, you want to continue listening from the particular part where you have stopped earlier, and not from the very beginning. This is untrue for music when you might want to hear the first song again.

Unfortunately, maximum MP3 player do not have the option to carry on from the precise point in the audio book, but from the opening of the same file. Some MP3 players do not have the choice of continuing, and thus commence from the beginning of the MP3 audio books after any disruption.

Before buying a new MP3 player, be sure to test it out - play an audio book, take off the batteries, then put the batteries back and ensure that the MP3 player starts from the beginning of the same file or from the beginning of the audio book.

2. Memory - The memory needed for the player depends on the MP3 format of the MP3 audio books, the duration of the audio books and the quantity of audio books you wish to upload to your MP3 player.

MP3 players usually come with a flash memory. You can add a memory card to many of the players available. The lowest memory needed is 128Mb (less than this will be enough for a short audio book of about 6 hours). Try to get the largest memory whish is possible for an amalgamation of flash memory and memory card.

3. Volume - Sound is one the main problems connected with MP3 audio books. Some MP3 players have a frustrating limitation on the volume. Subsequently, it is nearly impossible to listen to the audio book in a disturbingly loud environment like airplanes, trains or gym rooms. Our advice is to reject the head phones, and ensure there is a loud volume which will be enough to listen to audio books.

Yet, most players make the actual incident of listening to MP3 audio books far delightful and pleasing, than listening to audio books which are on CD and books on tape. Do try it, you can even download free audio books and get a free MP3 player.
