Frederic Francois Chopin, the famous Polish-born composer and renowned pianist, is admired for his music. This musical genius was the creator of 55 mazurkas, 13 polonaises, 24 preludes, 27 etudes, 19 nocturnes, 4 ballads, and 4 scherzos. He was born in Zelazowa Wola, Poland, on February 22, 1810, In the home of a French and Polish couple. His father, Nicholas Chopin, was a French tutor to many aristocratic Polish families, later he became a French teacher at the Warsaw Lyceum. And his mother was a Polish. Chopin was a French by heritage, and very desirous of finding new musical techniques. Due to the less acceptance of traditional audience in Poland than that of Vienna, he ventured to Paris. There he came in contact of other young musicians, who had assembled in this city of fashion with the very same ambition. Chopin retired to Scotland with friends. He was far beyond the reach of the revolution but still he sank deeper into a depression. His health did not rejuvenate and he returned to Paris. He died at the age of 39 and buried in Paris. His last wish was that the Polish soil in the silver goblet be sprinkled over his grave. He was a great composer and pianist.
